Project Overview: This project focused on the development of a Social Commerce Maturity Audit Tool for providing feedback on a brands Meta eCommerce store, a strategic initiative designed to empower clients to navigate the complexities of Meta's social commerce platform effectively.

The tool provides a structured roadmap, actionable insights, and automated monitoring, enabling clients to optimize their performance and achieve significant growth.

My Role: As the sole UX designer on this project, I was responsible for the entire user experience lifecycle, from initial concept development to final design and handoff. I worked closely with the eCommerce team to define the project's scope and requirements, ensuring the tool aligned with both business objectives and user needs.

Problem: Clients faced significant challenges in understanding and optimizing their Meta Social Commerce strategies. The existing process was often time-consuming, relied heavily on manual monitoring, and lacked a clear, actionable path to improvement. This resulted in inefficient resource allocation, limited growth potential, and a frustrating user experience. It was evident that a more streamlined and data-driven approach was necessary to empower our clients and drive success.

Goal: The primary goal of this project was to create an intuitive and automated tool that would provide clients with a clear understanding of their current Meta Social Commerce maturity, offer actionable recommendations for improvement, track progress, and leverage OMG's and Meta's expertise to deliver tailored, effective solutions.

My Process:

  • Collaboration & Discovery:

    • Partnered with the eCommerce team to define the project's scope, goals, and key functionalities, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

    • Conducted internal stakeholder interviews to understand pain points, user needs, and existing workflows.

    • Researched existing Meta Social Commerce best practices and competitor solutions to identify opportunities for innovation.

    • The initial phase involved deep collaboration with the eCommerce team to understand the business requirements and user needs. We conducted thorough stakeholder interviews to gather insights into the challenges faced by clients and identify key areas for improvement. This research phase was crucial in laying the foundation for a user-centered design approach.

  • Conceptualization & Design:

    • Developed initial concept sketches and wireframes to visualize the tool's structure and flow, focusing on user-friendly navigation.

    • Created interactive prototypes using Figma to demonstrate key features and user interactions, allowing for early testing and feedback.

    • Designed a user-friendly dashboard to display key performance metrics and progress tracking, ensuring data was presented in a clear and actionable manner.

Process:

I began by sketching out initial concepts and wireframes to visualize the tool's structure and flow. These wireframes were then transformed into interactive prototypes, allowing us to test key features and user interactions early in the design process. The design focused on creating a clean and intuitive dashboard that would present complex data in a digestible and actionable format.

  • User Testing & Iteration:

    • Conducted usability testing with internal users across various departments to gather feedback on the prototype's functionality and usability.

    • Analyzed user feedback and iterated on the design, refining the interface and functionality based on user insights.

    • Focused on simplifying complex data and presenting it in a clear, actionable manner, ensuring the tool was accessible to users of all technical levels.

    • User teting was a critical component of the design process. We conducted usability testing with internal users from various departments to gather feedback on the prototype's functionality and usability. This feedback was invaluable in refining the design and ensuring the tool met the needs of our users. Iterative design was employed to address user concerns and improve the overall user experience.

  • Final Design & Handoff:

    • The final phase involved creating high-fidelity mockups and detailed design specifications for development. Close collaboration with the development team ensured accurate implementation of the design and a seamless user experience. We also developed comprehensive user documentation and training materials to facilitate user adoption and maximize the tool's effectiveness.

Key Design Decisions & Features:

  • Maturity Framework (Crawl, Walk, Run, Fly): Visualized the client's progression through distinct maturity phases, providing a clear roadmap for improvement.

  • "Next Best Actions" Feature: Offered actionable, bite-sized recommendations tailored to the client's current maturity level, guiding them towards specific optimizations.

  • Progress Tracker: Displayed the tangible impact of implemented changes on key performance metrics through visual graphs and charts.

  • Automated Monitoring Dashboard: Provided a centralized view of account performance, benchmarks, and current state, simplifying data analysis.

  • Specialist Knowledge Integration: Embedded expert insights and best practices directly into the tool, empowering clients to make informed decisions.

Results:

  • Successfully launched the Meta Social Commerce Maturity Audit Tool, providing clients with a structured and efficient way to optimize their performance.

  • Received positive feedback from internal users, highlighting the tool's ease of use and actionable insights.

  • Streamlined the Meta commerce transformation process, saving time and resources for clients.

Lessons Learned:

  • The importance of early and continuous collaboration with stakeholders to ensure alignment and gather valuable insights.

  • The value of iterative design and user testing in refining complex tools and ensuring user satisfaction.

  • The power of visualizing data to make it easily understandable and actionable, empowering users to make informed decisions.

This project demonstrates my ability to:

  • Lead the UX process from concept to implementation, ensuring a user-centered approach.

  • Translate complex business requirements into user-centered designs that meet both business and user needs.

  • Conduct effective user research and testing to gather valuable insights and inform design decisions.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including eCommerce and development, to achieve project goals.

  • Deliver a successful and impactful product that empowers clients and drives business success.
